William J. Simpkins

William J. “Wild Bill” Simpkins

Age 81, of Middletown, went to be at rest with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

He was born August 11, 1937 in Preble County to the late Goldia Amy (Shell) Simpkins.

In addition to his mother, William was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth C. Simpkins; sisters, Joy L. Van Fleet, Gloria M. Bennett, and Lydia Simpkins.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra Lee, Amy Westveer, and Lisa Wessling; several grandchildren; sister, Rose Holt; and many nieces and nephews.

When William was younger, he helped build and white-wash silos around the area.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Middletown and retired from Armco/AK Steel.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11 from 12PM to 1PM at BALES’ FUNERAL HOME, Camden.  The funeral service will begin at 1PM with burial to follow at Collinsville Cemetery, Collinsville.
