71, of Camden, went to be with the Lord, suddenly on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
He was born June 26, 1951, in Hamilton, to the late Harry E. and Opal (Weidenbach) Lohrey.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Stephanie; and siblings, Delbert, Geraldine, Keith, and Glenna.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dorenda Lohrey; daughter, Kara (Duane) Stevenson; step daughter, Tomi (James) Haney; grandchildren, Carley and Kelsie Asher and Josh, Cole, and Lea Haney; step grandchildren, Owen and Keegan Stevenson; brother, Duwayne (Diana) Lohrey; niece and nephew, Jason (Jackie) Lohrey and Jennifer Adkins, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Terry was born into a family of farmers and started farming when he was in diapers. He had a deep love for the land and a passion for agriculture that lasted throughout his life. He dedicated his life to raising hogs, grain, and cattle, and was always looking for ways to improve his farming techniques and increase his yields.
Aside from farming, Terry had a few hobbies that brought him great joy. He loved tractor pulling and spent many weekends at competitions, always eager to show off his skills. He also had a passion for collecting toy tractors, and had an impressive collection that he loved to display.
In addition to these hobbies, Terry enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hunting for mushrooms. He found solace in the quiet of the woods and loved the thrill of the hunt.
Terry was also deeply involved in the community. He was on the Preble County Fair board for many years, and was instrumental in the planning and execution of the fair. He was also involved with 4H and started the cattle carcass class with Agrigold Seeds as the sponsor, and spent countless hours mentoring and teaching young people the importance of agriculture and the value of hard work.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Chuck and Missy Moore and the staff at CMJ’s for all the help and friendship they provided over the years.
The visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, from 4PM to 7PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 27 at 11AM at the funeral home, with Steve Logue officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
