Susan M. Murphy
64, of Oxford, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 29, 2023.
She was born January 20, 1959, in Monterey, California, to the late Edward and Rosadean (Smith) Bartels.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Curtis, and brother-in-law, Roy Elliott.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael Murphy; children, Jennifer (Jason) Evans, Jessica Powell, and Evelynn Huntsberry; grandchildren, Desiree, Jayden, Jasmine, Bradley, Kyla, Peyton, and Jayden; siblings, Tonia Elliott, Kathy (Mike) Monroe, Penny Chamberlain, and David (Charlotte) Barnes; sister-in-law, Yvette Curtis; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Susan began working at Miami University in August 1979 and retired after 30 years of service in December 2009. She had also been a volunteer EMT with Hanover Life Squad from 1989 to 1997. When not working, Susan enjoyed league bowling at Oxford Lanes, riding on motorcycles, and was an avid mushroom hunter.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 6 from 11AM to 1PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Jay Barden officiating. Burial will follow at Darrtown Cemetery, Darrtown.
