Dr. Donna Carol Bowling Pittman
78, of Camden, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 28, 2021.
She was born July 29, 1943 in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Lee and Verniece Bowling.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Bowling and Richard Bowling; son-in-law, Paul Chaney; and cousin, Irene Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Merle Pittman; daughters, Tonyia (Mark) Burnett and Tina Chaney; grandson, Josh (Cheyenne) Burnett; granddaughters, Nancy Rodriguez, Katie Chaney, and Miranda Chaney; great-grandchildren, Maiya, Gianna, Jaeden, Kaleb, and Gabriel; brothers, Rondall (Linda) Bowling, Gemerle (Amy) Bowling, and Darrell (Janet) Bowling; sister-in-law, Deborah Bowling; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donna’s calling was to minister to others, and in that capacity, she spent over 50 years sharing her light with the world. Donna earned her Doctorate in Ministry from Beacon University in 2006. She served as President of the Preble County Women’s Aglow, was a longtime member of CMI Global, and was the Founder and Pastor of Harvest Ministries International in Gratis. She even published her own book, “Prayer Power.” Donna enjoyed studying the Bible. She would spend hours in her room reviewing scripture and praying for others. Family was most important in her life. Their time together included many vacations to Gatlinburg and Florida. Preparing for holidays and fixing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner were among her most meaningful moments. Most of all, she loved going on special dinner dates with her husband.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 4 from 10AM to 12PM at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty St., Camden 45311. The funeral service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
