58, of Somerville formerly Richmond, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, December 6, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 29, 1962 in Los Angeles, California to Johnny North and Lois Mesker.

Diane was preceded in death by her dad; maternal grandparents, Eliza and Dewey Dotson; and paternal grandparents, Epp and Lucy North.

She is survived her mom, Lois (Larry) Mesker; loving husband of 15 years, Mark Croley; children, Eliza Gray, Michael North, and Brodrick Combs; step-children, Dale Croley and Barbara (Matt) Sullivan; grandchildren, Ducky Dookie, Maggie Gray, Andrew Gray, Robert Sullivan, and Colleen Sullivan; siblings, Marlene (Chuck) Harbin, Chris Mesker, and Liz Spiller; and multiple other siblings on her father’s side.

Diane was a passionate women’s rights activist who opened one of the first women’s abuse shelter in Indiana.  Being part Cherokee, she was also an environment activist for the indigenous people of America.  Diane authored and published self-help and motivational articles and was an incredible artist.  She enjoyed spending time bird-watching, camping, time with her kids and grandkids, and riding motorcycles.  Diane felt the most enjoyment when she was in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
