Alice E. (Root) Ballinger

Age 82, of Camden, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020.

She was born October 5, 1937 in Gratis, Preble County, where she resided all her life.  She was a long-time member of the First Southern Baptist Church and retired from Miami University.

Preceded by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Ballinger; parents, Homer and Alice (Hime) Root; granddaughter, Karen Hayes; siblings, Ernest “Bud” Root, Mary Cupp, Clara Stevenson, Alberta Nelson, Vernon Root, and infant brother, William Root.

She is survived by her 8 children, Roberta Moore, Robert D. & Cheryl Ballinger, John Ballinger,

Diana & William Hayes, Sandra & Jim Elliott, Edward & Tami Ballinger, Phillip Ballinger, and Tonya & Brian Bulach; grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, and Megan Moore, Bobbi and Benjamin Ballinger, Jerri Reiff, Karri Richardson, Bryan and Brandi Ballinger, Stephanie Gambrell, Angela Hayes, Brittany Mullins, Shane and Matthew Elliott, Emma Ballinger, Abbey Ballinger, Jacob, Joshua,  and Aaron Ballinger, Colton Smith, Ashley, Cole, and Josie Bulach; 40 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews & beloved friends & brethren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 27 from 11AM to 12PM at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N Liberty St, Camden, 45311.  The funeral service will begin at 12PM at the church with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
