Zana (Powell) Crowe

CROWE, Zana Pearl

of Camden, Ohio was reunited with her heavenly family on November 16, 2016.  She was born to Thomas Clinton and Ethel (Rucker) Powell on March 31, 1931.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Ohmer, son Larry, and brothers Lester Cecil Powell and Homer Waldo Powell.

She is survived by her daughters, Cherry (Curtis) Anderson, and Deborah (Vince) Moracz, and grandchildren Scott (Prajna) Anderson, and Kelle Moracz, as well as by beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Zana graduated from Lewisburg Union High School, Lewisburg, OH in 1949 and married her husband of nearly 66 years on April 15, 1950.  In addition to raising their three children, Zana worked at Rikes Department Store in Dayton after graduation, and years later at Hueston Woods State Park Lodge and Roberts Farm Equipment in Morning Sun, Ohio.  Zana and Ohmer lived in or near Camden their entire married lives, and their hearts were never far from their beloved farm they purchased in 1964.  Zana always referred to herself as “an old farm girl” and was never happier than when she and Ohmer were working out in the fields or woods together wielding their chainsaws or running the log splitter together, or working in the garden or flower beds.   In recent years, Zana took great pride in driving around Camden pointing out her flowers that she had donated to the Camden Beautification Committee for their numerous beds.

Zana’s visitation will be held Sunday, November 20th from 12pm to 2pm at Bales Funeral Home (Formerly Nein Funeral Home) 249 N. Main Street, Camden, OH.  The funeral service will begin at 2pm with Rev. Greg Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
