Winfred Huff

87, of West Elkton, went Home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 22, 2026.

He was born December 29, 1938, in Hyden, Kentucky, to the late Snowden B. and Nora L. (Allen) Huff.

In addition to his parents, Winfred was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Hamilton) Huff, and brothers, Denver Dean Huff and Gerald Huff.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and John Bosarge and Amy and Joel Estoye; grandchildren, Mandy, Drew, Adam, John, Sammy, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Leia, Luke, Laura, Noelle, and Desmond; nephew, Bobby Dean Huff; and many more family and friends.

Winfred was a proud Kentuckian who carried with him the values of hard work, simple pleasures, and a love for the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time outside, making memories and appreciating the things that came naturally to him.

After retiring from Magnode, Winfred found a new chapter that suited him perfectly. He worked and enjoyed his time at Weatherwax Golf Course until its closing, where he became part of the familiar rhythm and camaraderie of the course. He also enjoyed ushering at Miami University games, giving him another opportunity to be around people and be part of the excitement of college athletics.

Winfred had his favorite teams and was never shy about cheering them on. He was a devoted fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the Cincinnati Reds, following his teams with the kind of loyalty that comes from being a true fan. When he wasn't watching a game, he could often be found settling in with a good western novel. He especially enjoyed the stories of Louis L'Amour, losing himself in tales of the Old West and the characters who brought those stories to life.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 12, 11:00AM at West Elkton United Methodist Church, 120 S. Main Street, West Elkton Ohio, 45070.

At a private service, Winfred will be laid to rest at Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton, beside his beloved Mary.
