William Shannon Stapleton

51, of Camden, went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 7, 2024.

He was born July 27, 1972, in Hamilton, to William R. Jr. and Sue (Parker) Stapleton.

Shannon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Reva Stapleton; and maternal grandparents, Pastor Riley and Lucy Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Rebekah E. Stapleton, whom he married October 25, 1997; son Levi W. Stapleton; his parents, William R. Jr. and Sue Stapleton; wife’s parents, Charles and Carolyn Rodeffer; pet dog, Mollie; and many more family and friends.

Shannon graduated from Preble Shawnee High School, Class of 1990.  After his high school graduation, he attended Miami University and played baseball in the 1990-1991 season. After Attending Miami University, he embarked on a journey to educate and empower others. His favorite occupation as a dedicated instructor in adult education for heavy and highway equipment operations at Miami Valley Career Technology Center, he touched the lives of countless individuals, imparting valuable skills and knowledge.

Beyond the classroom, Shannon found peace and joy in his garden, where he cultivated beauty and nurtured life. His green thumb reflected his tender heart and his love for nature.

But perhaps Shannon's most remarkable trait was his boundless sociability. He possessed a rare gift of making connections effortlessly, never hesitating to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. His genuine warmth and openness endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

Shannon's memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind: his family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched through his teaching and his kindness.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 13 from 5PM to 8PM at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty St., Camden 45311.  The funeral service will begin at 1PM on Friday, June 14 at the church, with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
