Wanda Baker
74, of Morning Sun, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
She was born on January 3, 1951, in Hamilton.
Wanda was preceded in death by her dad, Earl Martin; son, Steven Allen Baker; and brother, Edward Ray Martin.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 57 years, Jeff Baker; daughters, Cheryl Chafin, Trena (Zachary) Montgomery, and Gena (Rodney) Liggett; grandchildren, Bauner Chafin, Brandon Powell, Kayla Liggett, Dustin Powell, Steven Baker, Tristan Liggett, Jack Montgomery, Ember Montgomery, and Arianna Liggett.
Wanda’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and sunshine. She found beauty in the smallest of joys- turning the pages of a good book, adding another cherished lighthouse to her collection, and watching her Cincinnati Bengals play with unwavering devotion. Her heart had a special place for chihuahuas, and none more than her beloved Bo, who brought her constant comfort and companionship.
The beach was Wanda’s happy place. It didn’t matter which shore- whether the waves rolled in from far-off coasts or nearby sands- what mattered was the feel of the warm sand beneath her feet, the golden glow of the sun on her face, and the peace it brought to her soul.
Wanda’s greatest treasures were her family and her grandchildren. She poured her love into them freely and completely, creating memories that will be held close forever. She was a spunky, stubborn firecracker, whose lively spirit could not be dimmed.
As a beautiful, loving wife and mother, Wanda gave her all to those she held dear. Her warmth, her laughter, and her unshakable love will remain with us always. Though she has gone from our sight, she will be missed and never leave our hearts.
Services will take place at the convenience of the family.
