Vernor Delbert Gregory (65)
July 24, 1953 ~ June 6, 2019
Leaving his legacy of love behind, Tina Gregory; son, Gabriel Jacob Gregory I and his wife, Amy (Chappel) Gregory; two grandson’s that held his heartstrings, Gabriel Jacob Gregory II and Garrett Joseph Gregory; sister and best-friend, Mary Margaret Crank; nephews, Brandon Crank and Adam Crank; sisters, Alice Deaton and Belleen Stacy; and brothers, George Gregory, Willie Gregory, “Uncle” Mike (Valorie) Stacy, Shelby Stacy, and Mikey Stacy, and bunches of nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
Vernor was preceded in death by father, John M. Gregory, Sr.; mother, Edith Gregory; brothers, Cash Cain, John M. Gregory, Jr., and Paul F. Gregory; sister, Martha Murphy; father-in-law, Charles C. Heading; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Heading, nephews, John Crank and Joshua Gregory; niece, Tonya Gregory.
Vernor loved and cared for his family first and foremost. He was an avid animal lover of his horses, dogs, cats. Vernor worked at Rainbo Bread and leaves behind many “bread brothers” one of which was his best friend Jeff Whited. After retiring from there, he went on to be a Chef as a second career. Vernor was a member of the West Elkton Baptist Church and Moose Lodge #501 in Middletown.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his niece, Shelby Stacy, who stayed at his side and cared for him in his time of need, Dr. James Thomson, Dr. Crane and the wonderful staff at Tri-Health Oncology, and Hospice Care of Middletown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15 at 3PM at Bridgepoint Community Church, 2564 Somerville Rd, Somerville, OH 45064. Afterward, a Celebration of Vernor’s Life will be held at 11993 Greenwood Road, all are welcome.
