Verno Wilkerson
63, of Camden, went to be with the Lord with his wife by his side on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at home.
He was born July 6, 1961, in Hamilton, to the late George “Bud” and Dianna G. (Depew) Wilkerson.
Verno is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 29 years, Debbie Wilkerson; children, Jamie (Ryan) Geise, Joshua (Heather) Uhl, and Danielle Scearce; grandchildren, Trent, Loren, Troy, Alyssa, and Grayson; siblings, Mona Jenks, Gary Wilkerson, and Melissa (Todd) Carter; and many more family and friends.
His first love may have been a roaring Harley Davidson beneath him, but his truest love was the life he built with his wife, Debbie, and the family they cherished together.
Whether tearing through the trails of Custer, South Dakota on a four-wheeler or casting a line into the waters at Hueston Woods hoping for whatever would bite, Verno found happiness in the great outdoors. He was always up for the next ride, the next fish, or the next memory to be made.
To his grandchildren, Verno was a hero with a heart of gold, one who didn't just watch from the sidelines but jumped right into the fun, racing go-karts in the backyard and whipping up whatever meal their hearts desired. His love was warm and generous, always seasoned with laughter and a good helping of home cooking.
At the end of the day, though, Verno was most content at home, sitting on the back porch with Debbie, taking in the simple beauty of life, side by side. Their quiet moments were filled with deep connection, unspoken understanding, and the peace that comes from a life well-loved.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 22 from 5-7PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden with a memorial service to begin at 7PM with Fred Schmidt officiating.
