Robert L. Williamson

April 10, 1927 — September 4, 2018

Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of Robert L. Williamson of Centerville, formerly of Camden, on September 4, 2018 at Hospice of Butler/Warren County after a very brief illness.

Upon graduation, Bob entered the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Davidson 37 with an honorable discharge.  Bob began his working career at The Standard Register Company in Dayton where he remained until retiring with over 40 years of service.  While employed at Standard Register, he played on several golf leagues.  After retiring from Standard Register, Bob worked and volunteered at the Community Golf Course accumulating over 20 years of service before retiring a second time.  Bob was an avid golfer and played many rounds of his favorite sport at Community and had two holes-in-one to his credit.  He was a member of Mystic Lodge #405, Antioch Shrine, and Scottish Rites.

Bob and his wife spent many vacations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; West Palm Beach; Palm Beach; Daytona Beach; Mt. Dora and Heathrow, Florida, as well as traveling to Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, and many other points of interest with family and friends.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Dottie; brother, Jack, of Orange Park, Florida; many wonderful brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and adoring nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his only daughter, Sandra Lee Aulabaugh; his parents, Herbert and Josephine (Elbert) Williamson; twin brother and wife, Richard and Phyllis Williamson; brother and wife, Maris and Wanda Williamson; sister-in-law, Rosemary Williamson; nephew, Matthew Williamson; niece, Jackie Leen; great-nephew, Jason Leen; and numerous golfing and card playing friends.

A heartfelt thanks is extended to the many wonderful family members, friends, and neighbors for the outpouring of love, prayer, support, encouragement, and phone calls. Also, a huge thanks to the compassionate and caring nurses and staff at Hospice for the wonderful care Bob received, and to the excellent medical teams at Kettering Medical Center.

Visitation will be held at BALES’ FUNERAL HOME (formerly Nein Funeral Home), 249 N. Main St., Camden on Thursday, September 13 from 10AM to 11AM with Masonic Services immediately following.  Pastor Greg Jackson will be officiating the funeral service.  Burial with military honors will take place at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden, Ohio.

Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Preble County Honor Guard, PO Box 635, Eaton, Ohio 45320.
