Lester Lunsford
68, of Hamilton, has gone home to be with the Lord and go fishing in the beautiful waters of Heaven, Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
He was born February 25, 1957 in Hamilton, to his parents, Albert and Edith (Begley) Lunsford.
Lester was preceded in death by his mom, Edith.
He is survived by his dad, Albert; children, Les (Lynlee) Lunsford, and Leigh Anne (Chris) Harris; several grandchildren; partner, Wanda Ballinger; siblings, Alberta Dunaway, Cindy (Gary) Crank, Delilah (Tim) Jarvis, Sheila (John) Riddell, and David (Charlotte) Lunsford; half-brothers, David and Rick McGuire; best friend, Patches; and many more family and friends.
An avid fisherman, Lester never cared so much about what he caught, only that he had a line in the water. Whether it was a quiet pond, a peaceful creek, or a spot off the beaten path, Lester was content with a pole in hand and the anticipation of “whatever was biting.”
Beyond the water, Lester had a remarkable knowledge of TV Westerns. Friends and family often marveled at his ability to recognize a movie or show by hearing just a single line of dialogue.
Lester was also a familiar face at auctions, often lending a hand to his brother, Dave. He enjoyed the fast-paced energy of the bidding, the camaraderie of the crowd, and being part of the experience. His presence there was as much about family as it was about the work, reflecting his giving nature and loyalty.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for the care they provided to Lester.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 29 from 10AM to 12PM at Northside Chapel First Church of God, 6820 N. Main St, Camden, 45311. The funeral service will begin at 12PM at the church with his nephew, Pastor Charles Riddell officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery, Somerville. Bales Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Contributions in Lester’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society – Cincinnati, PO Box 42217, Cincinnati , OH 45242.
