Larry R. Doty

88, of Camden, went Home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 15, 2024. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Doty; mother and stepfather, Billie and Buck Carr; step grandfather, Lenny Carr; and step great aunt, Kathleen Otto. 

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ruth Doty; daughter, Karen (Phil) Vienhaus; stepdaughter, Threasa (Dave) Croy; 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren; and half-sister, Charmaine Hacker. 

Larry served his country with honor, spending a significant portion of his military career stationed in Germany. After his time in the service, Larry pursued a life filled with passion and curiosity. An avid bass fisherman, he could often be found by the water, especially during the winters he spent in Florida, where the warmth and the catch were always just right. Larry had an eclectic array of interests that kept his mind sharp and his spirit lively. Whether he was experimenting with new hobbies or revisiting old ones, he embraced life with an adventurous heart and an open mind. 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 20 at 1PM at West Elkton Church of Christ, 12152 State Route 503, West Elkton, OH 45070, with Pastor Hugh Howard officiating. Larry will be laid to rest with military honors in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to West Elkton Church of Christ.
