On Tuesday June 25, 2024, Janice Johnson Pyfrin, passed away in Hamilton, Ohio after a long battle with cancer. She was 73 years old.

Jan is survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Seals Eaton OH, Virginia Perry College Corner OH, Joyce (Don) Boyd Middletown OH and Dennis Brock Oxford OH; sisters by choice Winnie (Charlie) Dickerson Oxford, and Mae Jessup Oxford; and many lifelong friends. Also, a niece Misty (Steven Woodard) Boyd, and nephews Russ Bowling, Bob (Sara) Reihs, Robert Boyd and great nephew Connor Clark. Jan has always been the favorite aunt!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Leonard and Anna Shouse Johnson and John and Ina Cornthwaite Holt; parents, Norval Johnson and Ruth Holt Brock and her husband Tony Pyfrin.

Jan was born on February 15, 1953, in Hamilton, OH. She graduated from Talawanda High School and worked her entire life in Oxford, retiring from Miami University in 2012. On March 16, 1992, she married the love of her life Tony Pyfrin. Jan and Tony lived happily until his passing in 2007.

Her funeral will be held at the Somerville Community Church, 207 Walnut St. Somerville, OH on Monday, July 1st. A viewing will be held from 10 am to 12 pm with services beginning at noon. Immediately following will be a brief graveside ceremony at the Darrtown Pioneer Cemetery.
