James “Jim” T. Michael
73, of Camden, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, Sunday, January 10, 2021.
He was born November 5, 1947 in Hamilton to the late Charles E. and Berdyne (Rust) Michael.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Iva and Corbin Rust; paternal grandparents, Daisy and Hescott Michael; and brother, Duane Michael.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51½ years, Betty Michael; son, James J. (Bobbie Jo) Michael; grandchildren, Derek Michael and Caroline, and Tiffany (Mike) Taylor; great grandchildren, Jameis Ryan Michael, Noah Ryan Grooms, Kinley Taylor, and Gentry Taylor; sister, Linda Back (Jim Moreland); sister-in-law, Lola Michael; and many more family and friends.
Jim was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam, former fire chief for Camden-Somers Township, founder of Camden Heating and Cooling, and was the current Commander of the VFW Post #1577 in Camden.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 15 from 11AM to 1PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden, with the funeral service beginning at 1PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the VFW Post #1577, 291 S. Main St, Camden, 45311.
