Gary R. Moore Sr.
Age 83, of Nancy, Kentucky, formerly of Somerville, Ohio, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 12, 2023.  He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late Arlin & Julia (Bradley) Moore on December 20, 1939.

Along with his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his four sisters and two brothers.  Gary is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Florence Marie (Simpson) Moore; children, Stephen A. (Lisa) Klaus, Rhonda (Jeff) Steinke, Gary Randall (Lisa) Moore Jr., Arlin Dean (Michelle) Moore, Julia (Kevin) Wilson; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews; several other family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

Gary will be remembered by many, whether it was from his time in the Army, his Eastern Kentucky childhood, the many universities he attended, or the time he spent in Richmond, Kentucky where he met his wife. You may have known him from raising his children in Somerville, Ohio or from working at AK Steel (ARMCO). You could have spent the day fishing with him at Lake Cumberland, where he enjoyed retirement, or you may have had the opportunity to gather around the euchre table as friends and family.

Gary’s accomplishments are numerous. He was a mathematician, electrician, and carpenter. He found joy in sharing his vast knowledge and skills and was eager to teach his friends and family. Although Gary’s accomplishments are numerous, his proudest accomplishment was his family.  He will be remembered for his generosity and ability to make you laugh. The legacy he leaves behind is the love he shared with his family. He will never be forgotten.
