Douglas A. Pitts
Age 75, of Camden, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Pansy Pitts; daughter, Debbie Pitts; and brothers, Monty, Tim, and Don Pitts.
Doug is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose; children, Doug Jr., Mike, Darrin, Denny, and Nikki; grandchildren, Matthew Thomas, Jaret, Trevor, Roni Jo, Courtney, Kelly, and Brook; brother, Mike (Wanda) Pitts; and sister, Lawanna (Les) Bowers
After graduating from Middletown High School, Class of 1960, Doug enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, and proudly served from 1960-1964 in San Diego, CA. He retired in 1995 from Armco where he was an electrician and union steward. Doug was currently the Commander of the American Legion Post 377 in Camden and had formerly been Sargent At Arms and Adjutant. He loved his family, horseback riding, Ohio State football, and the Cincinnati Bengals. Doug liked to read old westerns and watch western movies.
A visitation will take place Saturday, October 28 from 11AM to 12:30PM at the BALES’ FUNERAL HOME (formerly Nein Funeral Home), Camden. The funeral service will begin at 12:30PM with Pastor Fred Schmidt officiating. Military Honors will be held at the funeral home.
