Dorothy was Born in a cabin in High knob mountain (Virginia) to the late Emett M. Peak and Lillie M. (Begley) Peak. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her Stillborn son Hobart Gary Simpson Jr; Daughter, Sharon (Simpson) Rader; 7 Brothers; 1 Sister; 1 niece; 2 Nephew. She is survived by her Children, Sherry Johnson; Sondra Moore; Heather Dawn Cottingim; Victoria “Annie” Cottingim; Ralph Earl Cottingim Jr; and many nieces and nephews; cousins; friends and family.
Dorothy was a woman who found happiness in the quiet, meaningful moments of life. She had a special gift for crocheting, often spending hours creating warm, intricate Afghan blankets that she lovingly shared with family and friends. Each stitch reflected her care and generosity, leaving behind keepsakes that will continue to wrap her loved ones in warmth for years to come.
She was an avid reader, especially drawn to historical romance novels. She found great joy in getting lost in stories of love and resilience, and she had a particular fondness for the Virgin River series, which she read with delight. Books were not just a pastime for Dorothy; they were a window into worlds that inspired her heart.
