Christopher “Ryan” Smith

37, of Camden, Ohio was called home on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1983 in Oxford, Ohio to Garry Smith Jr. and Susan (Puckett) Smith.

Ryan always found the good in and was full of love for everyone he met. Ryan enjoyed mostly going to sporting events of his daughter Ashlynn and his two nephews Brayden and Nick. He was known as the “Sideline Coach”. Ryan was the founder and creator of Recovery Resources, a Facebook group to help addicts like himself to get and stay clean. Ryan was a certified Mason from Ohio Central School Systems. Ryan was a published author. Ryan worked at Wysong Gravel in Camden. He was a member of Solid Rock Church and was involved in several groups that spent countless hours feeding, clothing, guiding, and counseling those in need.

Ryan was preceded in death by his father Garry Smith Jr. Proceeded by his mother Susan Smith, his daughter Ashlynn Smith and her mother Brandy Kanerva, sisters Kelly Smith (Eric Paxson) and Daryl Windsor (Aaron Thorne), nephews Brayden Deem, Nick Windsor, and Izik Paxson, niece Lyric Paxson, aunts and uncles, longtime girlfriend Brooke Gunsalus and her son Drake, as well as many friends.

There will be visitation for Ryan on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at BALES FUNERAL HOME in Camden, Oh. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Susan Smith for funeral costs.
