Carolyn Neal
born on June 27, 1952, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of Shannon Neal, with whom she shared a long and happy marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Carolyn was the devoted mother of Michele (Larry) Smith, Wes (Elizabeth) Monebrake, Davena (Dave) Wilson, Casey (Chris) Tangeman, Dana (Joe) Monebrake, Darcy Blankenship, Bradley Monebrake, Anthony Monebrake, Camron Neal, and Shay Neal. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to many, who will carry forward her legacy of love and generosity. She is survived by 3 sisters - Jani, Cindy, and Becky and 5 brothers - Malcom, Ronnie, Donnie, Russell, and Pat.
A true pillar of her family and a dedicated member of her community, Carolyn was known for her unwavering kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was giving the shirt off her back or assisting a neighbor, her selflessness knew no bounds. Carolyn had a deep love for garage sales, always on the hunt for a treasure to share with loved ones.
Carolyn cherished every moment spent camping with family and friends. Her love for nature was a testament to her adventurous spirit and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
For over 20 years, Carolyn could often be found at the ball field, coaching young kids. Her dedication to youth sports was unwavering, and she took great pride in helping shape the lives of countless kids through her guidance and encouragement. To many, she was more than just a coach, she was a mentor and a friend.
In addition to raising her own children, Carolyn was a foster parent to over 250 children, providing them with a loving home and a nurturing environment. Her commitment to these children reflected her boundless compassion and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Carolyn's warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her husband Shannon, her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 22 from 4PM to 7PM at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty St., Camden 45311. The funeral service will begin at 11AM on Friday, August 23 at the church with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
