Arley Holcomb

February 24, 1935 — November 6, 2021

Arley Holcomb

86, of Camden, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 6, 2021.

He was born February 24, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky to the late William and Edith (Gray) Holcomb.

In addition to his parents, Arley was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Holcomb; and stepson, David Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shirley Smith; stepson, Kenneth Smith; sister, Lorene Cornett; sisters-in-law, Nancy Krody and Carolyn Willes; special friend, Terry Lohrey; and numerous fishing and hunting buddies, nieces, and nephews.

After graduating from Camden High School, Arley retired from Miami University after 42+ years of service as a plumbing supervisor.  He and Shirley enjoyed retirement by traveling around the country to places like Amish Country, the Western U.S., and to the Badlands of South Dakota (his favorite).  When not traveling, he could be found enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or helping Terry around the farm fields.  Arley was a wonderful, caring, and loving person.  He will forever be missed.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 10 from 5-7PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 11 at 10AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ty Choate officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.

Contributions in Arley’s memory may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1770 Eaton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45013.
