age 88, August 3, 1929- December 28, 2017

Loving daughter of Charles “Grover” and Jeanette R. (Seals) Spencer. Mary is survived by her brothers, Robert Spencer of Middletown, OH and Glenn Spencer of Eaton, Ohio; eight children, Beverly (Steve) King of Fountain City, IN, Larry (Jackie)Melton of Springfield, MO, Vicki Schrader of Greensburg, IN, Randy (Dee) Hensley of Chillicothe, Ohio, Mike (Donna) Michael of Camden, Scott Michael of Camden, Marsha Stapleton of Camden, and Michele (Jeff) Ittel of College Corner, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Donna Kay Michael of Camden; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall “Mike” Michael; beloved grandson, Nicholas J. Michael; brothers, John Spencer and Charles “Sonny” Spencer; and sisters, Louise Amann and Elizabeth Clark.

Mary Michael never knew a stranger and was very active in the community of Camden. She loved cooking and feeding anyone who sat at her table. She had a passion for youth and ran a youth center in the mid 70’s in Camden with Basketball and Roller Skating in the upstairs of the Old Town Hall. Mary also helped her husband operate Pastime Billiards in Camden for many years. She was retired but had worked various jobs at Oaklawn nursing home, Parker poultry, Neaton, and Hueston Woods State Park. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and was very proud of them. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Arlington Pointe, Hospice of Cincinnati, and Polly Heinkel for their exceptional care.

A visitation will be held Tuesday January 2 from 5 to 8PM at BALES’ FUNERAL HOME, (formerly Nein Funeral Home).  The funeral service will be Wednesday January 3 at 11AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
